Colors and Finishes

Please note that the colors shown below may differ depending on the type and make of your monitor.

For this reason, we recommend that you do not use these colors as a reference.

Wood species :

wood species cherry
Cherry

Cherry is a closed grained, uniform texture wood known for its warmth and distinctive characteristics such as curly figures and pin knots. The natural color of cherry ranges from a pale yellow sapwood to a deep reddish brown heartwood. Short grained areas and mineral streaks absorb stain differently from the rest of the wood which will create areas of contrast. From the time it is cut and exposed, cherry begins to darken in color. This gradual change gives the wood its reputation of warmth and charm. Cherry is particularly attractive when stained a deep, rich color.

maple
Maple

Maple is an extremely hard wood with a fine even texture. The natural color of maple is a light to cream colored sapwood. Although it is generally a bland wood, characteristic markings may include some wavy, curly, birds eye or burl graining. Maple will also reveal mineral streaks and worm tracking across the grain when the wood is stained. These characteristics are a natural partof wood and are not considered defects.

wood species oak
Oak

Oak is an open grain hardwood with varying patterns ranging from straight grain to a wide arc. When stained, there will be a noticeable difference in the color shades between the open and closed grain areas of the wood. Wood cut from the heartwood will range from pink to a reddish brown. Because of the distinct character of the grain patterns, oak is one of the most popular woods used for cabinetry.

knotty pine
Knotty pine

Pine is a soft wood which contains many knots and a straight-grain pattern. It is yellow to pale brown on color, with fine resin-duct marks. The wood density will vary from soft pine in most areas to a very hard dense wood near the knots. The irregular density causes the wood to absorb stain unevenly, which gives pine its appealing rustic look. We make no attempt to evenly distribute the knots in each kitchen.

wood species birch
Birch

Birch is a hard, close grain, even texture wood with a smooth, delicate grain pattern. One characteristic of birch is that areas of "short grain" will be present throughout. Birch will also reveal mineral streaks absorb stain differently from the rest of the wood which will create areas of contrast. These characteristics are a natural part of the wood and are not considered defects. Birch has an attractive light colored sapwood particularly popular with light colored stains.

red birch
Red Birch

A strong, fine-textured reddish brown heartwood with very subtle figure. It might have a lot of color variations.
